  Cleo smiled. “Then that’s all you have to worry about. Your mother is a bit peeved you went for a shifter, but she couldn’t deny the strength in this man’s,” she cleared her throat, “animal.”

  “What does that mean?” Jared asked, his voice low and steely.

  “It means,” Cleo pushed her long hair over her shoulder, “that you two are free to be a couple. Though how you’re going to keep her magic from getting her into trouble is beyond me.”
