  “Alright, Dalia Azul. You can do this.”

  “Darling, how are you?” Her Godmother, Cleopatra asked.

  Unlike Lucila, Cleo always made a point to be helpful to her goddaughters. Having identical triplet witches as godchildren had to have made her life more difficult than she ever imagined. Someone always needed help. With Lucila off being part of the elder council, she was busy and never around.

  “I’m good,” she sighed. How did her godmother always know when to call her?

  “I heard there’s a report out for men to be careful coming near you?”

  Dalia inhaled sharply. It was all that stupid shifter’s fault. Jared Price. For some reason, her wayward spells had a tendency of hitting his house in the woods. She couldn’t figure out why every time she tried something he ended up being affected.

  The last thing she wanted was to hit him with a lust spell.

  “Nobody needs to be careful,” she sniffed. Stupid sexy shifter. “If he hadn’t come here all angry and growly, we could have discussed things like grown adults. But that man and his snarling pushed me to my limit.”

  Cleo frowned. “Well that’s no fun.”

  She hugged her godmother and waved as Cleo disappeared. “Have fun!”

  “I plan to. You should too! Get laid by the growly wolf.”

  Only in her dreams. Once Cleo had gone, she went to shower and change into a black night gown and left her house.

  Maybe her problem was that she was inside, cooped up. The woods, nature would be better and might allow her to connect with her spell with more direction and strength.

  Carrying her book, she entered the forest and walked to the area she’d been assigned by the council to call on the elements. Her connection with the earth ran deep. It should help with her spell.

  She placed her book on a broken tree trunk and opened it to the designated page.

  A red candle appeared next to her book. Normally one needed a photo of the person the spell was for, but she was just trying it out, so this wasn’t really a full version of what would be later on.

  She drew a circle and glanced up at the sky, ready to begin.
